Restaurant logo design
A restaurant's logo works harder than most: on a sign across the street, at the top of every menu, on a takeaway bag and squeezed into a delivery app's tiny square.

→The short answer
Good restaurant logo design is simple enough to read on a sign across the street, small enough to recognise in a delivery app's thumbnail, and full of the character of your food and your room. Ours start at £199, shown on your sign, menu and packaging before you pay anything.

Restaurant logo ideas

Concept OstraSeafood restaurant
A short serif wordmark with room to breathe, for an elegant menu, a window and a business card.

Concept Nonna RosaFamily trattoria
A warm, rounded wordmark for a family restaurant, at home on a menu, a pizza box and a hand-painted window.

Concept Little ChilliThai street kitchen
A bold monogram that stays legible as a delivery-app thumbnail and on a sticker sealing a bag.

Concept Saffron HouseIndian restaurant
A round badge in deep red and saffron, rich enough for a dining room and simple enough for a takeaway menu.

Concept Ember & OakGrill and steakhouse
The first word set large in tall capitals: a name that sounds like fire, looking strong on a dark shopfront.

Concept Greenhouse KitchenPlant-based restaurant
A leaf beside a clean name: fresh without being twee, and clear on a green apron.

Concept The Kestrel ArmsGastropub
A round badge in the spirit of a pub sign, with initials big enough for a beer mat and the full name round the edge.

Concept ForkfulNeighbourhood bistro
A fork in a solid disc that reads at any size, from the window to the corner of a receipt.
(02)Where it lives
Each place sets its own limits.
Where a restaurant logo has to work
| Where | The limit | What the logo needs |
|---|---|---|
| The sign and the window | Read from across the street, often at an angle and at night | A short, bold name with no fine detail |
| The menu | Printed often, sometimes on a home printer, and read by candlelight | A small version that stays crisp in black |
| Delivery apps | A tiny square next to every competitor | A simple mark or monogram, with a strong colour |
| Bags, boxes and stickers | Printed in one or two colours on kraft paper and card | A version that works in one colour |
| Aprons and uniforms | Embroidered, so fine lines fill in | A simplified version drawn for thread |
| Social profiles | Cropped into a circle | Nothing important near the corners |
(04)Colour
Choosing colours, without the myths
You'll often read that certain colours make people hungry. We don't choose colours by rules of thumb like that. We choose them to suit your food and your room, to stand out on your street and in a row of delivery-app thumbnails, and to print well on the bags and boxes you'll actually buy.
What we check instead
- Does it stand apart from the restaurants nearest to you?
- Does it suit the food: a seafood restaurant and a burger bar shouldn't look alike.
- Does it print on kraft paper and white card, in one colour, without losing its character?
- Does it still read on a phone screen at thumbnail size?
- Do the colours meet contrast guidelines when used for text on your menu and website?

Questions
(07)Questions
The Full brand package includes artwork for your signs and uniforms. Tell us which bags, boxes or stickers you need when you ask for your preview, and we'll confirm in writing what's included before you pay. A printer of your choice prints them.
We test it there, as a small square next to other restaurants, before you approve it. If the full logo won't read at that size, we design a simpler mark or monogram for it.
Yes. Sometimes a logo only needs redrawing so it works small and in one colour, keeping what regulars recognise. See rebranding for when it needs more than that.
