How it works: see it, give the nod, then pay
We build your website or logo before you pay anything. You look at it, ask for changes, and give it the nod in writing. Only then do we send the bill.
→The short answer
Pay when happy means you see the finished design before any money changes hands. We build a free working preview of your website or logo, you ask for changes, and you approve it in writing on a private link. Payment is due within seven days of that nod, and we launch once it's settled.
(01)The four steps
The same four steps for a website, a logo or a full brand.
From first message to launch
1. You tell us about your businessFree
Fill in the short form on this site or send us a WhatsApp. We reply with a private link: a page of quick questions about your business, most of them yes or no, with space to write more if you want to and a button to send photos from your phone.
From your answers we write a short summary of what we'll build, which pages, what's on them and which plan it sits on, and send it to you on another link to agree.
2. We build your previewFree
A real, working preview on a private web address: your pages, your words, your photos, on your phone and your computer. For a logo, it's the logo shown on the things you'll actually use it on. No card details, no deposit.
3. You ask for changesFree
You send changes in writing on the same link, or by WhatsApp if that's easier. We make them and send the preview back. This carries on until it's right, within the reasonable limits set out below.
4. You give it the nod. Then you pay.Payment
When you're happy you press Give it the nod on your link, which records your name and the date. We send the payment details on a private link, and once payment arrives we launch your site or hand over your logo files.
(02)Everything in writing
Real screens from our own system, filled in with an example business.
Every step happens on a private link

01Questions about your business

02Your preview, ready to look at

03Your nod, stamped and dated

04Payment details, with a reference
Phone calls are easy to forget and hard to check. So everything that matters, what you told us, what we agreed to build, what you approved and what you owe, sits on a page you can open again whenever you like. You don't need an account or a password: each link is private to you, and you can send it on to a business partner if they need to see it too.
It also means you can answer at your own pace. Fill in half the questions on your lunch break and finish them in the evening; the page keeps your answers on your phone until you send them.
(03)The free preview
What the free preview includes, and what it doesn't
Included, free
- Your homepage and the main pages agreed in your summary, designed and written for your business
- Your own photos, or carefully chosen stock photos until you have some
- A working layout on phones, tablets and computers
- For a logo: the logo and how it looks on your van, shirt, card or shop sign
- Changes until it's right, within reason
Not part of the preview
- Your domain name being switched over: that happens at launch
- Connecting paid services you may add later, such as a booking system
- Logo files you can use: they're handed over once the logo is paid for
- A second, completely different business or design direction after you've approved the first
(04)Reasonable changes
The question everyone asks, answered honestly.
What "a reasonable number of changes" means
Always a change
Different words, photos, colours or fonts. Moving, adding or removing sections. A new page that was in your summary. A logo in a different colour or weight, or with the lettering tightened.
A new brief, not a change
A different business, a new set of services, or a completely different style after the first one was agreed. We'll tell you if a request turns into a new brief, before we start on it.
If we go round in circles
Sometimes a design just isn't working. If we've made several rounds of changes and it still isn't right for you, we'll say so plainly, and you can walk away owing nothing.
(05)Walking away
If it isn't right, you owe nothing
Until you give it the nod, you can stop at any time, for any reason, and you owe us nothing. There's nothing to cancel because you haven't signed up to anything yet. We take the preview down, and our privacy notice explains how long we keep what you sent us.
We'd rather lose a job than have a client who isn't happy with what they've paid for. That's the whole point of the name.
(06)Paying
When and how you pay
- You give the preview the nod on your link.
- We send a payment link with the amount, what it's for, our bank details and a reference to use.
- You pay by bank transfer within seven days. We never take card details, and you never pay on this website.
- You press I've sent the payment on the link, and we confirm when it arrives.
- We launch your website, or send your logo files.
Monthly plans are paid every six months or yearly, so most clients make two payments a year. Logos and branding are a single payment. Every price is on our pricing page.

Questions
(08)Questions
No. You answer a few questions and agree a written summary of what we'll build. Our terms apply once you give the preview the nod and choose a plan, and you can read them before then on our terms page.
It depends on the size of the job. A logo is quicker than a ten-page website. We give you a date in writing when we agree your summary, and we tell you straight away if anything moves it.
Answers to the questions on your link, your logo if you have one, and any photos of your work. If you have a domain name already, we'll ask for access to it nearer launch. Everything else we can sort out together.
No. We only take bank transfers, using the reference on your payment link. It keeps our prices down and means no card details are ever stored anywhere.
Tell us. We hold the preview while you sort it out. It goes live once payment has arrived.
